For the past 8 years, I’ve set myself a unique birthday tradition: Run one mile for every year I’m turning, starting June 1st and finishing by my birthday on June 29th. This year, the number was 47 — 47 miles in 29 days.
But here’s the catch: I can’t change my schedule. That means no skipping work, no rescheduling podcast recordings, no dodging family or business commitments. I have to carve out these miles from my “down time” — early mornings, late evenings, lunch breaks… whenever I can squeeze them in.
Add to that this year’s daily Florida lightning storms, and it became one of the most challenging years yet. But that’s what makes it worth doing. Discipline, sweat, and showing up even when it’s inconvenient — that’s the whole point.
Follow along as I share what it took to hit all 47 miles without missing a beat in life. 🎙️🏃♂️⚡️
