It’s late August in Cape Coral, FL, and the shallow canal water temps are through the roof. That means the bass are lying low, and it’s time to fall back on tried-and-true tactics—worms and jerkbaits. This week, we made a couple of trips out to Lake Mead. While the bite was slow, the quality made up for the numbers—two of the few fish we landed were solid, healthy bass. Nothing beats the fight of a big fish on my KastKing Royale Legend Pro Series, especially when paired with the stability and comfort of my Vibe Yellowfin 120 kayak. If you love kayak fishing, bass tactics in the heat, or just the thrill of chasing late-summer fish, this one’s for you.
